How can I add my husband to my health insurance? He is an immigrant without a Social Security number again?
We did not filed our paperwork with USCIS, but will as soon as we try to make all of our documentation as well. Is it possible to add my husband to my health insurance now? I am employed by the city government and I wonder how will I know if my husband about my plan, as he has not received his social security # yet. Thank you. BTW, my husband entered the country legally but his visa expired. I demand an adjustment of status for him.
The health insurance company does not necessarily need a SSN to be able to add it to your insurance. You can give them just ask and let them know that you just got married and still doing the paperwork. In addition, just to correct what was mentioned above, it will not be denied simply because of the excess. The Immigration and Nationality Act clearly states this.
