Burglar Alarms wireless applications?

I'm having installed an Alarm System in my house, the house is currently being restored so that I install a wired system in the house until someone at work mentioned wireless systems. This would obviously save the hassle of hunting, etc. I was wondering cable, these systems are reliable or they are susceptable to false alarms cons interference (wireless networks / etc Keychains)? What connections are needed? I know that the sensors are wireless, but am I right in thinking that you need a 240v supply to the Control Panel and stronger? If any of you have had experience with wireless systems, or if you know any good websites it would be greatly appreciated.

If you go wireless, do not go cheap! Wireless systems can function properly or not at all. I would recommend going with a big name and compare several systems. The control panel should 120V (240 if you're in Europe). Devices will have some type of batteries. The sounder can be 120/240 or 12/24. GE Interlogix manufactures Wireless Security. Tyco / Simplex Grinnell-May also be a manufacturer you want to try.
