How difficult is it to switch out deadbolt door locks?
How hard is it to replace (remove and reinstall new) deadbolt locks on doors? I bought a house and need to switch out the deadbolts on 4 doors, is that something I could do fairly easily or is it better to pay a locksmith to come in and do it?
It is very easy. Once you purchase your new ones, check with the hardware store and have them re-keyed to all use the same key. Lowe's and Home Depot do this for very cheap and it takes a short time to do. I would also guarantee that since you are buying new deadbolts, there should be installation instructions in the package that will provide you with step-by-step details!
