how to use protections Ive got? AVG, e-wideo get track, virus &trojan in vault but cant heal? what to do?

I've got a full avg install, updated today... finds all types of tracking cookies, and now a trojan and a virus... it vaults them but does not explain what can and what should be done with them?
also, with this so called protection, why do I still get these?, even if still being vaulted, shouldnt such a program keep these threats from getting in in the first place?
also.. with yahoo mail, claims to scan and with avg to have email protection yet still get loads of unwanted mail and threats in waiting???

can someone please explain what should be done, how to do it, and why these
'protections
' are not protecting at all, or even providing any mention of what to do ... avg7.5,, caught the infected, moved to vault but cant heal, wont explain and doesn't say anything but ERROR, cant be healed?
PLEASE,PLEASE, explain in plain english why protections do not seem to protect.. what to do about it, and how to get protected, as the word suggests.. protected with no spys or tracking?

A PC needs 3 types of protection. Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Firewall.

Not all will cure all so you need a few antispyware programs.

Tracking cookies are planted by websites. If you delete and go back to that site you'll get another.
You can install CCleaner and set it to clean out the cookies each time you start your PC
