Can a metal base lamp pick up radio signals? ?
I recently hooked up my wireless laptop and live in an area where there is a radio tower in my sub that is for my internet. So in the same room there is a metal lamp that seems to transmit voices like from a radio.
These voices come from the lamp area about 10 feet away from the laptop. Funny thing is the tower is for internet for campers. The tower is not a radio tower? Either that or we have ghosts. We hear it a lot!
kerry k, you are not right and the answer is : it is possible if the radio transmitter has enough power.
You can find stories when construction workers poured concrete near active radio tower and heard music and voices from the concrete.
Thing is that metal base in lamp can act as semiconductor and do AM demodulation.
