Do airsoft bb's work with a real bb gun?

My friend has a bb gun that shoots metal bb's and he want's to come over and shoot. But my mom doesn't want metal bb's in the backyard so I was wondering If it would work If he could yous airsoft 0.2 gram bio plastic bb's

Sadly no it wouldn't, airsoft bbs are bigger than the metal bbs used in bb guns. They will not fit in the chamber and if you force them in you will end up getting them stuck and jamming the gun, rendering it unusable till you take it apart and get a new barrel for it which is gonna cost your friend a good amount of money.
