i wonder why we cant fit long questions on this thing...?
A long wire carrying 100A is perpendicular to the magnetic field
lines of a uniform magnetic field of magnitude 5.0mT. At what
distance from the wire is the net magnetic field equal to zero?
Lets start
Magnatic field due to cirrent of the wire
B = μ°I/2πr
B = μ°*100/2πr = 50μ°/πr
B =5*10^-3 [Magnatic field]
When these two are equal and work opposite direction, Magnatic field is zero
r = distance
μ° = Vacuum permeability
5*10^-3 = 50μ°/πr
50*10^-4 = 50μ°/πr
10^-4 = μ°/πr
r = 10^4μ°/π
μ° = 4π * 10^-7 H/m
r = 10^4μ°/π
r = 10^4* 4π * 10^-7 / π
r = 4 * 10^-3 m
r = 0.004 m------------->ANSWER
